Infection Immunology

Assessing human immune responses to infection or vaccination will contribute to our understanding of successful immunity. Human immunity will be assessed from the molecular to the population level and includes components of innate and adaptive immunity. Population heterogeneity, differences across the urban-rural gradient, controlled human infection models and patients with inborn or acquired immune deficits will be investigated to understand host immunity in relation to protection from infection and disease. A close natural collaboration exists with the cluster on innovative vaccinology.
