Healthcare

Aside from research, LUCID provides high‑quality diagnostics and patient care, making us an essential link in the highly complex treatment of patients with viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections.

LUCID Medical Microbiology and Infection Prevention is responsible for pathogen diagnostics and infection prevention at the LUMC. This subdepartment forms the bridge between laboratory, research and clinical practice, and provides (reference) diagnostics, clinical consultation and education. The Dutch Donor Feces Bank is part of this subdepartment.

More information about MMIP can be found on the LUMC website

LUCID Infectious Diseases (INZI) provides clinical care, but also plays a role in caring for patients undergoing rare and/or complex treatments within the LUMC. In addition, the department delivers highly specialized outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic infections and immune disorders.
