LUCID Medical Microbiology and Infection Prevention is responsible for pathogen diagnostics and infection prevention at the LUMC. This subdepartment forms the bridge between laboratory, research and clinical practice, and provides (reference) diagnostics, clinical consultation and education. The Dutch Donor Feces Bank is part of this subdepartment.

LUCID Infectious Diseases (INZI) provides clinical care, but also plays a role in caring for patients undergoing rare and/or complex treatments within the LUMC. In addition, the department delivers highly specialized outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic infections and immune disorders.
