Research: Immunology, Immunometabolism and vaccine response

Presently, I am doing my PhD, and my main area of research is immunometabolism. My study focuses on how immunometabolic pathways trigger different vaccination responses, particularly in low-income countries. The main objective is to define the contribution of host immunometabolic states in determining vaccination responses and identify the key biological mechanism that drive this association. Finally, the goal aims to help with the development of more effective and equitable vaccine strategies worldwide.

Curriculum Vitae

After completing my MSc in immunology and Infection at Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar University, I joined the Institut de Recherche en Santé, de Surveillance Épidémiologique et de Formation (IRESSEF) as laboratory scientist. I worked on the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak via diagnostic testing and also contributed to the AIDCO study by collection and processing samples to investigate  SARS-Cov-2 infection. This experience provided me extensive training in good clinical laboratory practice, data documentation, and collaborative research.
